AGES 2.4-2.7 AT THE START OF THE SCHOOL YEAR
transition room
The Transition Classroom is made up of our older toddlers—those who will turn 2.9 by January or shortly after. By providing a mixed-age toddler and preschool space, it eliminates the disruption of transitioning students to a Children’s House classroom midway through the year.
“The greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence.”

program features
-
The maximum class size in a Transition Classroom is 9 students per day, compared to 18 to 20 students in a Children’s House classroom. This ensures plenty of one-on-one time throughout this big developmental window.
-
Older toddlers can step into leadership roles within a smaller peer group, building self-confidence and fostering a strong sense of community before they eventually advance to a Children’s House environment.
-
The Transition Classroom is led by two educators who hold credentials and certifications in both toddler and preschool education. This bridges the gap between toddler and preschool experiences, ensuring each child’s needs are met based on developmental readiness.
