2024-2025 Tuition & Policies
Newburyport Montessori School offers programs for children ages 8 weeks to 6 years old. Depending on the program, children may attend NMS for a minimum of 2 half days per week (9-Noon) to 5 full days per week (9 am – 3 pm). Additionally, we offer both before and after care to support the needs of families within our Montessori community. Before-care begins as early as 7:30, and after-care extends til 5:00.
The below fee schedules reflect the monthly tuition for the Nido, and the annual tuition for Toddler House and Children’s House for the 2024-2025 school year.

Tuition & Deposits
Toddler House, Children’s House, and Kinder House Programs:
Tuition, less deposit, may be paid in one of the following ways:

- One payment – Tuition is discounted $100 per family if received by June 1.
- Ten monthly payments via Blackbaud Tuition Management – June thru March.
Deposit:
- New & Returning Toddler & Children’s House students = $500 deposit
- Returning & new Kinder House students = $1,000 deposit
Nido Programs:
Tuition will be billed monthly. Monthly payments will begin in the month prior to the infant’s start date.
Deposit:
A deposit equal to two months of tuition will be required at enrollment. The deposit will be credited to the last two months that your child is in the Nido.
School-wide Deposit Payment Details:
The only payment method available for deposits is ACH (electronic funds transfer from your bank account.) ALL payments will be processed through Blackbaud Tuition Management.
School-wide Tuition Payment Details:
All tuition and fee payments will be made through Blackbaud Tuition Management (BBTM; formerly Smart Tuition), and all families are required to enroll. A $54 Activation Fee payable to BBTM will be added to your first invoice. If you do not already have a BBTM account, an account will be automacally created for you upon signing and submitting this Agreement. If you have multiple children attending the school, they will appear on one BBTM family account with the same payment plan and payment method.
BBTM accepts the following payment methods for tuition and fees: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and ACH. Please be aware that a processing fee of 3.12% of the total amount due applies to credit card payments.
Student Fees
Student fees include an activity fee and a materials fee. The activity fee is $250 and is used for field trips and special programming.
The materials fee is $150 for all programs and is used to purchase and maintain consumable materials for your child’s Montessori environment. An additional $75 materials fee is required for children in Kinder House.
Childcare
Childcare is offered from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM and from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM each day and is billed monthly. The rate for Toddler House, Childrens House, and Kinder House students is $14/hour for one child and $20/hour for two children in the same family, and is pro-rated to the nearest 0.5 hour. The Nido rates are $15/hour for one child and $21/hour for two children in the same family.
Lunch Bunch (Children's House Only)
We offer Lunch Bunch from 12-1 pm for Children’s House students. Lunch Bunch is available on a drop-in basis for $22/day. If Lunch Bunch is added as part of your child’s regular schedule, the fee is discounted to $16/day.
Drop-in Options
Depending on availability, you may request to add a morning, afternoon or full day session to your child’s regular schedule, as needed. The drop-in rate for a morning session (9am – Noon) or afternoon session (Noon – 3:00 pm) is $60. The drop-in rate for a full day (9am – 3pm) is $160.
Late Pick-up Fees
We allow a 10-minute grace period for pick-up at the end of the morning and afternoon sessions. If a child is picked up after 12:10 p.m. for the morning session or 1:10 p.m. for Lunch Bunch, the following late fees will apply:
1-5 minutes late = $5
6-10 minutes late = $10
Etc.
If a child enrolled in the afternoon program is picked up after 3:10 p.m., you will be charged the standard rate for childcare.
If a child is picked up from aftercare after 5:00 p.m., the following late fees will apply:
1 – 5 minutes late = $15
6 – 10 minutes late = $30
Etc.
Absence
NMS does not refund tuition or offer make-up days for absences, including, but not limited to, absences due to illness, family vacations, and appointments.
Program Changes
After June 1, 2024, there will be no reduction in tuition for program changes that involve a reduced schedule, and the financially responsible parent or guardian is liable for the full year’s tuition as shown on the Financial Agreement. Our annual budget is based on enrollments as of June 1st, and the reduction of a student’s schedule does not reduce operating costs.
For program changes of higher value, tuition will be adjusted accordingly. All other program changes will incur a $25 change fee.
Financial Aid
We are not in a position to offer financial aid for the 2024-2025 school year.
